Schools & Universities

The Requirements

Modern educational areas – whether campuses or school centers – function like small cities today. Every day, thousands of students, teachers, maintenance crews, cleaning staff, and other people move through a wide variety of areas: lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories, sports facilities, libraries, administrative offices, and the cafeteria. Smart and reliable access control is needed everywhere – because mechanical locking systems quickly reach their limits in this environment.

Even in everyday school life, it becomes clear how versatile a locking system needs to be: Who is allowed where and when? How can rooms be made available to clubs and associations outside of class time? And what happens if a key is lost? Added to this is the growing importance of security – not only for protection against burglary, but also in the context of preventing school shootings and violence.

Our Solution

The solution lies in controlled transparency: clearly defining access rights and being able to track who was where and when. An electronic locking system from Uhlmann & Zacher offers precisely this flexibility while simultaneously ensuring greater security – both on campus and in schools.

A single transponder opens all authorized doors and also serves for payment in the cafeteria, time tracking for employees, and opening the parking lot barrier. The CX6192 Electronic Cabinet Lock also allows student lockers to be integrated into the electronic locking system.

There are also special product solutions for schools. One example is the CX6122AP anti-panic cylinder. In an emergency, it allows unimpeded passage through emergency exit doors. Technically, it is based on the proven CX6122, but has a mechanical inside knob and is also suitable for existing locks that otherwise only accept electronic cylinders to a limited extent. A practical feature: The classic CX6122 can also be retrofitted to the anti-panic version at any time – simply replace the cylinder; the outside knob remains. In an emergency, students can safely lock themselves in the classroom to protect themselves from external dangers.

For exterior doors, there is also the CX6122AP-M: It has a special mechanical cylinder end that can only be operated from the inside with a special key. This prevents unauthorized locking of doors from the inside.
